Art in the Park
An art exhibition featuring the work of the artists of Okaloosa Public Arts is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. An exclusive preview of the hit Broadway musical Spamalot will take place in the afternoon. Food vendors will be located onsite to provide refreshments while you enjoy the festivities. Northwest Florida Ballet will begin their mixed repertory performance at sundown, featuring scenes from the second Act of Swan Lake as well as an eclectic mix of contemporary pieces. The performance will also feature new works performed by international guest artists. This is an annual SOCKS event geared to reduce the number of cats and kittens in the shelter by finding them new and loving homes to allow more to be saved/brought into the shelter. The adoption fees are drastically reduced and the Thrift Store (located behind the shelter) will have a half-off sale on most of everything. As always, adoptions are FREE for cats five years of age and older. SOCKS has been in operation for more than 20 years. It’s a free roaming, no-kill, nonprofit cat shelter and adoption center.
