Happy Friday the 13th! (There will also be a full moon tonight!) This weekend is packed with all sorts of fun and eventful activities and events to take part in. Just a handful of the happenings this weekend are a nature hike, multiple golf tournaments, live concerts and a summer art camp. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park will host a nature hike. There are lots of things happening in the preserve—wildflowers blooming, birds nesting, fledging chicks chirping and beautiful scenery dazzling that will satisfy all of your senses. The hike will cover about one mile and will envelop some of the major ecosystems located in the park. Entry fee into the park is $6 per vehicle. The hike will leave from Tram Stop 1 in the day-use parking area. Please no open-toe shoes. Sunscreen and water are musts.

The Arts and Design Society will offer a half-day, Life Sculpture workshop. There will be no instructor. Participants will create Marquette-sized, clay sculptures of a live model. The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Summer Camp from June 14-19 features “The Wizard of Oz” Theater Camp for students entering grades third-eighth in the fall. MKAF is partnering with Emerald Coast Theatre Company to produce this classic story. Students will experience group auditions and casting (everyone gets a role), acting, theater games and prop construction in a positive, team-building environment. Times are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., and Saturday 1-5 p.m. with a ticketed performance on Saturday at 6 p.m. Registration fee is $150.

In honor of National Marina Day, CBA has been invited to Bluewater Bay Marina, a Florida DEP designated “Clean Marina,” to celebrate and promote clean waterways. The CBA’s mission and objectives will be displayed, and family oriented activities and crafts will also be present. The marina has agreed to run specials on oysters to promote its recycling restoration program. They will donate a percentage of the proceeds from these sales to CBA. Come join in celebrating healthy and sustainable waterways with educational fun for all ages!

To cover the cost of food, please bring $5, which goes to Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to enhance the park. Or, you can choose to bring your own breakfast. Entry fee into the park is waived for this event.
